Maru Jensen was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her unique sculptural ceramic forms and paintings explore themes of motherhood, sexuality, gender, and non-binary freedom. By disrupting stereotypical notions of identity, Jensen’s work seeks to promote a more non-conforming concept of being. Through tactile forms, vibrantly coloured surfaces, and intricate detailing, Jensen's work is a physical embodiment of these ideas; a world where constructs of identity become fluid and infinitely malleable. An artist based in Miami Beach, FL, Jensen scrutinizes traditional notions of identity and invites viewers to reimagine the parameters of the self in their constantly changing form. Received a BA from the University of Visual Arts in Buenos Aires (UNA). Associate Degree from ESEA en Ceramica N1 also en Buenos Aires, Argentina.
