RUTH LASTRA (Buenos Aires, 1985), an architect (UBA), started weaving on a loom over five years ago and later moved to canvas using a tufting machine. She is interested in depicting everyday scenes, finding meaning in common objects and patterns. The use of color and contrasting shadows are key elements in her work, a continuous search in which learning the technique keeps her in constant change and movement.
